| Theres no point in coming to a paradise island if youre
not going to invest in a decent hotel. Sure, those 1 pound a night
dos are a bargain for young backpackers, but wouldnt you
prefer to spend that much more so that you wont have to share
the bathroom with a family of roaches? The choice is enormous in Samui.
Munchies, for one, is probably the first to look up. Theyve
been around ever since the early boom years of the island and havent
gone anywhere ever since. Rooms are air-conditioned and very habitable,
and often, friends who come here leave as lovers, while lovers leave
with a slice of the Munchies magic. Something slightly
jazzier is the Corto Maltese which is ideal for travellers who dont
really mind being too far away from the 7 elevens and Starbucks. Its
fairly quiet down here in this neck of the woods, but songtaews
to take customers to and from chaweng run frequently. The slight mediterranean
feel to the rooms are to die for, and the sea calm confirms the experience
that you are indeed in marine heaven. Although high end places such
as Santuri or Baan Taling Ngarm are instant guarantees of high-style
holidaying, why not spoil yourself if you can afford to fork out the
cash? There are various levels of pleasure depending on each travellers
expectations. But all will leave the island in one frame of mind no
matter how they choose to enjoy Samui - thats totally and utterly
huppy. |
